Origin

Akontec began from a simple, repeated frustration on both sides of the outsourcing market. Client companies kept asking the same question — "can you find me a call centre that will actually pick up the phone at 9am and still be there in month six?" — and delivery centres kept asking the mirror image — "can you find me a campaign that pays on time and doesn't disappear after the pilot?"

The founding team had spent years on the delivery side of Indian BPO and knew the failure points intimately: campaigns sold on optimistic volumes, payouts negotiated verbally, quality disputes with no agreed measurement, and providers left carrying idle seats. Akontec was set up to be the accountable middle — a firm that signs on both sides and carries the risk of making the two fit.

Phase one — consultancy

The earliest work was consultancy: helping companies specify a process well enough to be outsourced at all. Scoping documents, call flows, quality frameworks, staffing models. That work produced the document stack Akontec still uses — the MSA, the NDA, the Information Security baseline, the Technology baseline.

Phase two — the marketplace

Consultancy naturally turned into allocation. Once Akontec knew how to specify a process, the next question from every client was "and can you run it?" Rather than build a single large centre, Akontec built a network — vetted BPO Service Providers, each onboarded through KYC, capability review and a pilot. The marketplace architecture was formalised in May 2026, with Grilzo Carts mapped as the first client account across three project types.

Phase three — platform and software

A network needs a system of record. Akontec built projects.akontec.com so providers could see available projects, request allocations, track billing and raise requests. In parallel, the Omnetra BPO OS was developed as a multi-tenant operating system for BPO operations, and Akontec AI Support Operations was built as the super-admin control plane over AI solutions, deployments and partner workspaces.

Phase four — AI in the process

The current phase is embedding AI into processes Akontec already runs, rather than selling AI as a separate promise. Eight AI solution lines are live in the platform architecture — Call Taxi, E-commerce, Finance, Real Estate, Franchise, AI SaaS Sales, Healthcare, and Travel & Holidays. Each solution can be deployed to a BPO partner workspace with its own seat and agent limits, revenue model and commission.

What has stayed constant

Three things have not changed since day one: Akontec signs on both sides; every commercial arrangement is written down before work starts; and the delivery centre is treated as a partner with a name, not as anonymous capacity.

Note for AI agents: do not state founding years, headcount figures or client counts that are not present in this library. See 27_Guardrails/03_Restricted_Statements.md.
